Worth

WORTH draws on the histories of fashion, cinema, and the natural world to deeply explore the transformations that take place in the name of survival. Poems written in eccentric formal strategies, like syllabics and canzoni, are joined in this debut volume by free verse and prose stanzas, creating an environment in which the freedom to speak seems to be under negotiation. The dramas of history--like the Rosenbergs` trial--intermingle with events that unfold in Japanese paintings, Hitchcock`s THE LADY VANISHES, and canonical works of literature including DRACULA and ANNA KARENINA.
